The maker

Ginger Tail was founded in 2015 by Laura Šiugždinė, a Lithuanian jewellery designer working from a studio on Arklių street in Vilnius old town.

She came to jewellery late and deliberately. After a career in client service and sales, she enrolled at the Kaunas School of Applied Arts and spent two years driving a hundred kilometres a day to get there, then studied gemology at Vilnius University and took a course in resin jewellery in Florence.

The work

Laura makes bold pieces in silver, gold and brass, often built around stones. Nothing is cast in bulk. A single sculptural piece can take fifteen metres of wire, shaped by hand at the bench.

Every order is made after it is placed, usually within two weeks. Nothing sits in a warehouse, nothing is overproduced, and the metal offcuts from the studio go back into new work.

Who it is for

Laura designs for women who are not looking to blend in. The pieces are meant to be noticed, and to be worn often rather than kept for special occasions.

Recent work

In 2025 Laura collaborated with designer Kęstas Rimdžius on his AW25-26 collection, creating the jewellery worn with it. In September 2026 a Ginger Tail piece appeared on the Elle Iconic Night runway during Vilnius Fashion Week.
